It's Monday at Cannes Lions and we had a great start to the Young Lions Marketers Academy. Here's a look at our day.
The marketers visited Google Zoo to check out new technologies from Google and heard from Dan Kaufman, Head of Advanced Technology and Products at Google.
Key Quote:
“Software is already brilliant – it already anticipates your needs in many ways you don’t even realize. Yet, stuff (real tangible goods/products) is stupid. The future is all about brands as soon as ‘stuff’ gets smart.” – Dan Kaufman
Fernando Machado, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Burger King, spoke in the classroom.
Key Quote:
“As CMO, sales are your duty. Building the brand is your legacy.” – Fernando Machado
We went to the Debussy Theater to hear the Target presentation. On stage was Todd Waterbury, Chief Creative Officer, and Caroline Wanga, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.
Key Quotes:
“We are activating soul at scale by linking our values to behaviors.” – Todd Waterbury
“To lead with purpose is an all-in, full contact sport and everyone plays a role. Even those who choose to do nothing play a role” – Caroline Wanga
